Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is reportedly offered the opportunity to spend the season away from the Premier League.

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is reportedly attracting interest from abroad.

The England international will almost certainly depart the Etihad Stadium before the end of the summer transfer window after seeing his career stall the past two seasons.

Just two starts and 14 substitute outings were made in the Premier League during his first 18 months at City before he was allowed to go out on loan to West Ham United.

A temporary stint at the London Stadium was supposed to lead to the 28-year-old earning regular game time and retain his place in the England squad for Euro 2024.

Instead, he was limited to just three starts and seven substitute appearances in all competitions, the Hammers having no interest in pushing through a permanent deal.

As a result, the former Leeds United star now finds himself in limbo and awaiting concrete proposals from a number of teams that hold an interest.

Move to Turkey in the offing?

According to The Sun, the likes of Roma, RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg have all held an interest in securing a loan deal for Phillips.

The same outlet now says that Galatasaray are ready to join the race for his signature as they bid to compete with Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce.

Last season's Super Lig champions are allegedly contemplating whether to switch their attention to Phillips courtesy of failing to come close to signing Manchester United's Scott McTominay.

Although the Scotland international has less than a year remaining on his contract, United have no intention of accepting a £12.6m bid from Galatasaray.

They must now decide how to act, aware that City will be looking to negotiate an exit for Phillips - permanent or temporary - as soon as possible.

Has Phillips featured during pre-season?

Even though there is little prospect of Phillips being kept at City by Pep Guardiola, he has been handed plenty of minutes on the club's tour of the United States.

Phillips came through 45 minutes against each of Celtic and AC Milan before playing the full match versus Barcelona earlier this week.

City officials will hope that it only encourages teams to make an approach with Guardiola's side returning to competitive action against Man United in the Community Shield on August 10.
