Paris Saint-Germain are allegedly prepared to use two of their star players in a bid to sign Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to offer Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti in exchange for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

The Portugal international has just enjoyed yet another impressive campaign at the Etihad Stadium, helping City pull off an historic Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble.

In those particular competitions, Silva made 37 starts and 15 substitute appearances, highlighting his regular availability and importance to Pep Guardiola.

However, it has been known for a number of transfer windows that the playmaker is ready to take on a new challenge after six years at the club.

The perception is that City will not stand in the 28-year-old's way should they receive a proposal which suits all parties, something that will not necessarily be easy to do.

Nevertheless, it appears that PSG are prepared to significantly disrupt the status quo at Parc des Princes in order to get a deal for Silva over the line.

According to Foot Mercato, sporting advisor Luis Campos has offered City the opportunity to sign goalkeeper Donnarumma and midfielder Verratti.

PSG signed Donnarumma on a free transfer from AC Milan in 2021 and the Italy number one has since gone on to make 69 appearances in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Verratti is established as a PSG legend, spending the last 11 years in the PSG first team and featuring on 416 occasions for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Of the pair, Verratti may be most appreciated by Guardiola at a time when it is unclear whether key man Ilkay Gundogan will pen fresh terms at City or depart on a free transfer.

That said, the report adds that City moved quickly to reject PSG's proposal, officially retaining a stance that they do not want to sell Silva unless it is on their terms.

Discussions will allegedly continue, although it is unclear whether City will insist on money over players at a time when PSG need to boost their own position with FFP.

Campos has already overseen deals for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte - for a reported £52m - and Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio on a free transfer, yet it emerged on Monday night that they may cash in on all-time leading goalscorer Kylian Mbappe to avoid losing him as a free agent in 2024.
