Real Madrid have reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
The 32-year-old has been a prominent figure in Pep Guardiola's side this season, making 20 appearances in all competitions, contributing with two goals and two assists.
Despite being a regular feature in Man City's side, Gundogan is yet to agree a new contract, with his current deal set to expire next summer.
According to Defensa Central, Gundogan was one of a number of would-be free agents that has been offered to Real Madrid, but the European champions turned down the opportunity to sign the Germany international.
Although Gundogan is not under consideration, Los Blancos are looking to strengthen their midfield, and they are currently linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham.
Gundogan is still attracting interest from elsewhere with a recent report claiming that Barcelona are considering a January move, while Galatasaray are also said to be among his admirers.
