Sunderland are reportedly planning a bid for Man City striker Roque Santa Cruz.
The 30-year-old joined the club from Blackburn for £17.5m in 2009 but has started just eight times and scored only four goals.
Black Cats manager Steve Bruce sees Santa Cruz as a potential partner up front for new signing Connor Wickham and an "experienced alternative" to Asamoah Gyan, according to The Mirror.
Celtic are also thought to be in the running for his signature, while loan bids from Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano have been rejected as "insufficient".
Last week, Santa Cruz's father revealed that his son was considering a move to a Championship side.
