Valencia are reportedly keen to re-sign Nicolas Otamendi from Manchester City ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Otamendi joined City from Valencia in 2015 and has made 165 appearances for the Premier League side in all competitions, winning two league titles, one FA Cup and three League Cup crowns in the process.
The 31-year-old only made 18 Premier League appearances for Pep Guardiola's side last term, however, and his future at the Etihad Stadium is far from secure.
According to Marca, Valencia are 'dreaming' of bringing Otamendi back to the Mestalla. However, Los Che would have to come up with a sizeable bid, in addition to asking the Argentina international to take a pay cut in order to stand a chance of completing a deal.
City have already lost Vincent Kompany this summer, with the Belgian leaving the English club to take up a player-manager role with Anderlecht.
Guardiola's side appear to have missed out on the chance to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City, though, with Manchester United said to be closing in on a swoop for the England international.
