Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to offer Jack Grealish a mammoth £200,000-a-week wage in order to stay with the club next season.
The 25-year-old has become one of Manchester City's top transfer targets this summer following his impressive season for Villa and performances for England at Euro 2020.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Pep Guardiola's side are prepared to pay as much as £90m for the attacker, with one even claiming that he has already agreed personal terms over a switch to Manchester.
According to The Sun, however, Villa are not resigned to their fate and are planning to make a club-record wage offer of £200,000 a week to tempt him to stay.
Such a deal would place Grealish among the top 10 earners in the Premier League, on a par with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford.
The player is already the highest-paid member of Villa's squad, with an estimated weekly wage of £120,000, and has a long-term contract running until the end of the 2024-25 season.
