Alvaro Negredo has refused to admit that his World Cup hopes may be over following a disappointing spell of form for Manchester City.
The Spaniard started his Premier League career impressively, but a run of 14 matches without a goal means that his place in the squad is under threat ahead of this summer's tournament.
However, the 28-year-old believes that Vicente del Bosque will continue to keep the faith as Spain look to defend their title in Brazil.
"It's my dream to be involved in the World Cup - it would be great and is something I am fighting for," Negredo told members of the media.
"Not playing regularly here means the national manager has not seen much of me, but I won't give up. Quite the contrary, I am full of optimism. I believe he will still have confidence in me."
Negredo has started just once in City's previous five games.
