Tom Cleverley: 'Donetsk trip won't affect Manchester United'

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley insists that a midweek trip to the Ukraine has not left the squad tired ahead of their game against Sunderland.

Tom Cleverley has insisted that Manchester United's trip to Ukraine will not leave them fatigued this weekend.

The Premier League champions, who drew 1-1 with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday, face Sunderland tomorrow.

The 24-year-old told MUTV: "I think we're used to this as a squad now. It's part and parcel of it, all this travelling.

"Obviously, it's not ideal but we're all used to it now. Our recovery team and sports science guys do a really good job in turning us over ready for the next game.

"We can always do better and the results have been a bit poor recently but Wednesday was a good, solid point and something we can build on."

United currently sit 12th in the Premier League table.
