Sir Alex Ferguson insists that his Manchester United side comprised largely of young players are determined to defeat Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that he wants his side to win against Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Scotsman has left behind a number of his experienced players for their trip to Istanbul, including Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

"Our players have played challenging games in various parts of the world and I believe they will be at their best," he said. "We don't consider the young players a gamble.

"What we do consider is our reputation and we have to be fair to the other teams in the group. We are very conscious of how to pick our team.

"It will be a good occasion to see our young players introduce themselves to the public and the media. Our aim is to win."

United have already qualified for the last 16 with four wins out of four in Group H.
