Nemanja Vidic happy with Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney partnership

Nemanja Vidic pays tribute to the partnership of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney for Manchester United.

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has heaped praise on strike duo Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney for their recent displays together.

The pair both scored during the club's 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Saturday, which marked the fourth occasion under manager David Moyes that the couple have notched in the same game.

"I was really pleased with Robin and Wayne," Vidic told the press. "In the first 30 minutes they played terrific football and we need them to keep doing that.

"Their movement was terrific; they got a goal each and set up the other for Antonio [Valencia]. It was a good sign for us and for the team."

United travel to Real Sociedad in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
