Wednesday's FA Cup predictions including Manchester United vs. West Ham United

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's FA Cup fixtures, including Manchester United vs. West Ham United.

Southampton vs. Grimsby Town (Wednesday, 7.15pm)

Southampton play host to Grimsby Town in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday evening as they bid to find some consistency under new head coach Ruben Selles.

At a time when the Saints sit at the bottom of the Premier League standings, Grimsby are in 16th spot in League Two and will be sensing another upset in this competition.

We say: Southampton 2-0 Grimsby Town

With Southampton likely to make alterations, Grimsby will be optimistic about taking full advantage. However, for all their struggles, the Saints still possess a talented squad, and they should have enough quality to make relatively light work of their next opponents.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Burnley vs. Fleetwood (Wednesday, 7.30pm)

Championship leaders Burnley will be looking to maintain their momentum when they face Fleetwood Town in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday evening.

At a time when the Clarets are already on the brink of an immediate return to the Premier League, Fleetwood are 11th in League One after their own strong run of form.

We say: Burnley 3-0 Fleetwood Town

With more changes expected from Burnley than Fleetwood, the outsiders have reason to believe that they can pull off what would be a considerable upset. However, such is the confidence within the Clarets camp that they will expect to beat most opposition in front of them, leading us to predict a dominant win.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Man Utd vs. West Ham (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Fresh from lifting the EFL Cup, Manchester United seek to move one step closer to booking their place in another Wembley cup final when they host West Ham United at Old Trafford in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday.

David Moyes, meanwhile, returns to familiar territory as the former Red Devils boss bids to avoid a third successive elimination with the Hammers at this stage of the competition.

We say: Manchester United 2-0 West Ham United

Both teams head into Wednesday's encounter on a high following their victories last weekend, but the momentum is with Man United and they will be regarded as firm favourites to come out on top, even if Ten Hag opts to rest a few of his regular starters.

The last six meetings between the two teams have been decided by just the one goal and another tight affair could be in store here, but we expect the Red Devils – in front of a jubilant Old Trafford crowd – to book their place in the quarter-finals with a routine victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Sheff Utd vs. Spurs (Wednesday, 7.55pm)

Championship promotion hopefuls Sheffield United will test their mettle against Premier League opposition when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Bramall Lane in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday.

The two teams meet in the FA Cup for the first time since the 1957-58 campaign when the Blades secured a 3-0 win over Spurs in the fourth round.

We say: Sheffield United 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Sheffield United have turned Bramall Lane into somewhat of a fortress this season having lost only three of their last 20 home games in all competitions, so their opponents Tottenham – who have lost three of their last five away matches – could be in for an uncomfortable evening on Wednesday.

Nevertheless, Spurs will be firm favourites to progress to the quarter-finals and they possess enough quality in their squad to get the job done, as they did in the previous two rounds against lower-league teams.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
