The 2023-24 Premier League campaign was one of the most exciting and memorable yet and that was largely thanks to the sheer amount of goal-laden matches witnessed across the country.
A remarkable total of 1,246 goals were scored in the division, surpassing the previous all-time record of 1,222 goals, which was set back in the inaugural 1992-93 campaign.
An average of 3.28 goals were netted per match in a season that ended with Manchester City clinching an unprecedented fourth consecutive top-flight title, finishing two points clear of their nearest challengers Arsenal in second place.
There were a plethora of goals, some decisive at both end of the table, that are ones worth watching over and over again, so with that in mind, Sports Mole takes a look at the top 10 goals scored during the 2023-24 Premier League season.
10. Mohammed Kudus - Manchester City 3-1 West Ham United, May 2024
One of the brightest sparks in a West Ham United side beaten by champions Man City on the final day was Mohammed Kudus, who scored his eighth league goal of the season in sublime fashion.
The Hammers had barely laid a glove on the Citizens, who were leading 2-0 inside the opening 18 minutes, but Kudus reduced the deficit in devastating fashion with a memorable bicycle kick on the stroke of half time.
James Ward-Prowse's inswinging corner was only cleared as far as Kudus, who instinctively flicked the ball up in the air before performing a stunning acrobatic strike from around 10 yards out that flew beyond Stefan Ortega.
9. Kobbie Mainoo - Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-4 Manchester United, February 2024
Molineux staged a Premier League classic and one of the standout games of 2023-24 in February, with Man United snatching all three points at the death thanks to teenage sensation Kobbie Mainoo.
Wolves restored parity twice in the breathless contest after trailing 2-0 at half time and 3-1 in the 85th minute, but among the raucous atmosphere and late drama, the Red Devils relied on a cool, calm and collected 18-year-old academy graduate to score a superb 97th-minute winner.
Mainoo picked the ball up on the left, nutmegged Max Kilman and then cut inside onto his favoured right foot before bending a precise, effortless shot into the bottom corner - his first-ever Premier League goal that was awarded Goal of the Month for February.
8. Bruno Fernandes - Burnley 0-1 Manchester United, September 2023
Earlier in the season, Man United relied on two of their senior stars to combine for a decisive goal in a slender victory against Burnley at Turf Moor, with 35-year-old Jonny Evans setting up captain Bruno Fernandes on the stroke of half time.
Man-of-the-match Evans was making his first Red Devils start since March 2015 and produced an assured performance at the back, but it was his playmaker qualities that received plenty of plaudits.
After receiving the ball just inside Burnley's half, Evans floated a delicious long-range pass up towards Fernandes, who had made a brilliant run in behind the hosts' backline before directing a controlled right-footed volley into the far corner.
Fernandes subsequently won the Goal of the Month award for September and became just the second player in Premier League history after Andros Townsend to claim the individual accolade for a third time.
7. Moises Caicedo - Chelsea 2-1 Bournemouth, May 2024
Chelsea did not splash a British-record transfer fee on Moises Caicedo to bang in the goals, but the Ecuadorian midfielder showed the Stamford Bridge faithful what he has in his locker when he scored a halfway-line screamer in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth on the final day of the season.
After Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto rushed off his line to close down Raheem Sterling and clear the ball up field, Caicedo pounced on the loose ball inside the centre circle before sending an audacious, looping strike from just inside the Cherries half into the back of the net.
Caicedo celebrated his first goal for Chelsea and first Premier League goal since September 2022, with his strike measured at an astonishing 50.5 yards - the fifth furthest goal by an outfield player since records began in 2006-07.
6. Cole Palmer - Chelsea 6-0 Everton, April 2024
The night of April 15, 2024 is one that Cole Palmer will never forget as he stole the headline with four goals, including a perfect 29-minute first-half hat-trick, to help Chelsea cruise to victory against Everton at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer's third goal - a 40-yard lob of Jordan Pickford - was an impressive strike, but his opener that won Goal of the Month for April makes our list. The Wythenshawe wizard received the ball in the middle of the pitch before nutmegging Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite to create space in the final third.
The 21-year-old then played a neat backheel flick to Nicolas Jackson, before receiving the ball back on the edge of the box and placing a curling strike into the bottom-left corner - a finish that typifies the sheer class Chelsea's star boy possesses.
5. Oscar Bobb - Newcastle United 2-3 Manchester City, January 2024
With the contest tied at 2-2 at St James' Park, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola turned to 20-year-old Oscar Bobb, who was brought on in the 82nd minute not long after fellow substitute Kevin De Bruyne had restored parity for the Citizens with his first goal following a five-month injury layoff.
Newcastle were hoping to hold on for a valuable point against the reigning champions, but both De Bruyne and Bobb combined to snatch victory for the visitors in the 91st minute.
De Bruyne's magical delivery from over 40 yards out was met inside the penalty box by the perfectly-timed run of Bobb, whose exquisite control and fancy footwork enabled him to knock the ball past goalkeeper Martin Dubravka from close range.
The 20-year-old celebrated his first Premier League goal in only his seventh top-flight appearance of the season, and he was later rewarded with the Goal of the Month prize for January.
4. Marcus Rashford - Manchester City 3-1 Manchester United, March 2024
Prior to a stunning second-half equaliser from Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford had given Man United fans hope of an unlikely victory at the Etihad when he fired the Red Devils into an eight-minute lead against the run of play.
Andre Onana's long ball forward was held up well by Bruno Fernandes, and he shrugged off a challenge from Ruben Dias before rolling the ball into the path of Rashford to net his sixth Manchester derby goal in some style.
The England international burst forward to meet Fernandes's pass and struck a spectacular 25-yard effort in off the underside of the crossbar, a goal that was rewarded with the Goal of the Month prize for March.
3. Alexis Mac Allister - Liverpool 4-3 Fulham, December 2023
Liverpool came from behind in dramatic fashion to secure all three points in a seven-goal thriller at Anfield, and it is fair to say that Alexis Mac Allister's wonder strike was the pick of the bunch.
The Argentine summer signing was not brought to Merseyside for his goalscoring ability, but the technically-gifted midfielder produced a moment of magic to net his first goal for the Reds seven minutes before the interval.
With the score at 1-1, Fulham failed to clear their lines and that proved costly, as the ball made its way nicely to Mac Allister, who looked up towards goal before unleashing a spectacular 30-yard shot that swerved past goalkeeper Bernd Leno and into the top corner - a deserved winner of December's Goal of the Month award.
2. Michael Olise - Luton Town 2-1 Crystal Palace, November 2023
One of Crystal Palace's standout performers of the 2023-24 campaign has been in-demand winger Michael Olise, who scored the best of his 10 Premier League goals on his first start of the season at Kenilworth Road.
Just two minutes after Teden Mengi had given Luton the lead, Olise picked the ball up on the halfway line and skilfully toyed with Amari'i Bell down the right flank before cutting inside and bending an exquisite left-footed shot into the far corner.
Olise's goal was Palace's 600th scored in the Premier League, but it was ultimately not enough to snatch a point for the Eagles as Luton came out on top thanks to an 83rd-minute winner from Jacob Brown.
1. Alejandro Garnacho - Everton 0-3 Manchester United, November 2023
That goal-of-the-season contender from Olise would have been a worthy winner of November's Goal of the Month award, but unfortunately for the Frenchman, it was netted just over 24 hours before arguably the greatest overhead kick scored in Premier League history by Man United's Alejandro Garnacho.
On an evening when Everton vented their fury at the Premier League prior to kickoff after receiving a 10-point deduction for breaching financial rules, Garnacho quickly silenced the Goodison Park crowd with his outstanding acrobatic effort to open the scoring in the third minute.
There appeared to be minimal danger for the Toffees when Diogo Dalot dinked a delivery into the penalty area. However, Garnacho showed great athleticism to leap off the ground and power his mid-air finish up and over Jordan Pickford into the top-right corner. It is hard to argue against this strike winning the Goal of the Season award.
