How Manchester United could line up with Caglar Soyuncu, Youri Tielemans

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up next season if they sign Leicester City duo Caglar Soyuncu and Youri Tielemans.

Manchester United are reportedly keen to sign Caglar Soyuncu and Youri Tielemans from Leicester City during next summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils are expected to bring a new central midfielder to the club ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, while another centre-back could be required if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides to change to a 3-5-2 on a more regular basis following the impressive display at Tottenham Hotspur.

Solskjaer's position at Old Trafford is far from secure, but the Norwegian will now be hoping that his side can use the result in North London as a springboard in the coming weeks.

As it stands, both Soyuncu and Tielemans will be out of contract at the King Power Stadium in June 2023, and Leicester will struggle to keep of them unless they are playing regularly in the Champions League.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how the 20-time English champions could line up if both players arrive at Old Trafford during next summer's transfer window.

POSS UTD XI TIE SOY

It will be fascinating to see whether 3-5-2 becomes a regular formation for the Red Devils, particularly as the club spent heavily on Jadon Sancho over the summer.

Edinson Cavani starred alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in a front two against Tottenham, but the Uruguay international is expected to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer next year, which will open the door for the likes of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood to feature as one of the two strikers.

Paul Pogba looks set to move on, making a new central midfielder even more of a priority, and Tielemans could potentially slot in alongside Bruno Fernandes and Fred, with Scott McTominay also rotating into the side.

Tielemans has again been in impressive form for Leicester this term, scoring three times and registering three assists in 15 appearances, and he starred against Man United at the King Power Stadium on October 16.

The 24-year-old's ability to control a game from the middle of the park would be invaluable for the Red Devils, and he has also contributed 20 goals and 22 assists in 123 appearances in all competitions during his time at Leicester.

Soyuncu, meanwhile, could slot in alongside Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire at the back, taking the place of Victor Lindelof, who has certainly improved since his early struggles, but questions remain over his suitability for the Premier League.

Soyuncu, though, has proved himself in English football since arriving from Freiburg in 2018, and the 25-year-old could be an astute signing by Solskjaer's side.
