Manchester United will reportedly make a swift decision as to whether Marouane Fellaini requires surgery to rectify the ligament damage sustained against Tottenham.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is reportedly facing another two-month spell on the sidelines after aggravating a long-standing knee injury.

The Belgium international lasted just seven minutes into his substitute appearance against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium in midweek before being taken off.

Boss Jose Mourinho confirmed after the match that the injury was linked to the one that kept Fellaini out between November and January.

According to The Independent, United will decide at some stage on Friday whether Fellaini requires surgery to rectify the ligament damage.

Should that be the case, the 30-year-old - with just one 90-minute outing under his belt since September - will require around eight weeks to recover.
