Manchester United captain Harry Maguire insists that the team "will put things right" amid their recent struggles.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has insisted that the team "will put things right" amid their recent struggles.

The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City in the Manchester derby on Saturday, making it back-to-back home Premier League losses for the 20-time English champions, who also conceded five against Liverpool towards the end of October.

Man United are now nine points off the top of the Premier League table, while they have lost four of their opening 11 league matches of the season.

Taking to social media on Sunday morning, Maguire admitted that his team were "going through a tough period" but insisted that better times were ahead for the club.

"As a group of players we are going through a tough period. We know and accept this is nowhere near good enough. We feel your frustration and disappointment, we are doing everything we can to put things right and we will put things right. Thanks for your support," Maguire posted on Twitter.

Man United will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they make the trip to Watford after the international break.
