Tyler Blackett will reportedly be given the chance to play his way into the Manchester United senior squad during the club's pre-season tour this summer.
The 18-year-old is expected to be part of United's touring squad, which will travel to South Africa, the Far East, Scandinavia and Germany.
It is believed that manager Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to allow the youngster the opportunity to prove his worth due to his limited options in the left-back position.
Fabio da Silva has been allowed to join Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan deal, while Ezekiel Fryers is expected to sign a four-year contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
That has left French international Patrice Evra as United's only recognised left-back.
The Red Devils will fly to Durban tomorrow.
