Manchester United midfielder Daley Blind has hailed the attention to detail of manager Louis van Gaal.
The Red Devils struggled in the early stages of the last campaign in the Premier League, while they were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by MK Dons.
However, United found their form towards the end of the season, and Blind has revealed that the improvement was down to the Dutchman having his team prepared for their matches.
"At the start of the [last] campaign we were mainly building the team, but if you look to the second half of the season we were doing well," Blind told FourFourTwo.
"Louis van Gaal sees everything, and what he says always comes true. Many times we won matches on details which he had practised in training beforehand.
"If you look at the home games against Spurs and Manchester City, and the away match against Liverpool, you'll see that we gave away very few chances. Defensively we were well organised and knew exactly what to expect."
United open their Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur on August 8.
