Michael Carrick named Manchester United Player of the Year

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has been named as the club's Players' Player of the Year.

The 31-year-old received the accolade at Old Trafford on Wednesday night during the team's annual awards ceremony.

Carrick, who was recently included in the PFA's Team of the Year, has made 46 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League champions this season.

Robin van Persie was voted as the Fans' Player of the Year following the Dutchman's haul of 29 goals during his debut campaign.
