Manchester City are preparing to offer Jose Mourinho a return to England as manager should Roberto Mancini fail to win the Premier League this season.

Manchester City want Jose Mourinho to replace Roberto Mancini as the club's manager this summer should the Italian not deliver the Premier League title, according to the Daily Mirror.

Mourinho has apparently hinted at a summer exit from Real Madrid in favour of a return to England.

Amid these rumours, City are preparing to offer the Portuguese tactician the managerial post at the Etihad Stadium.

Mourinho has openly stated his love for English football and has on numerous occasions admitted that he wants to manage in the Premier League again.

The former Chelsea boss has long been touted as a possible successor to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United but it appears City are also interested in his services.
