Ben Davies "disappointed" with Manchester United defeat

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies admits that his side "switched off" for Manchester United's winning goal in their 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies has admitted that his side "switched off" when Manchester United scored the winning goal in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford this afternoon.

A tight contest was decided nine minutes from time when Anthony Martial raced onto a Romelu Lukaku flick before finishing past Hugo Lloris, with Spurs being undone by some route one football from the hosts.

The defeat leaves Spurs still five points adrift of leaders Manchester City having now played a game more, and Davies admitted that it was a disappointing way to lose.

"It is more an annoyance. It was a disappointing goal to concede. It was very unlike us. We are just disappointed we didn't keep a clean sheet and come away with a decent point," he told Sky Sports News.

"We don't concede goals like that. We switched off. It is a tough place to come. We were solid and I thought we were going to keep a clean sheet. We didn't concede too many chances."

Spurs have now failed to score on their last four league visits to Old Trafford, losing each time.
