Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has said that the club's defeat at Wigan Athletic could be a blessing in disguise.
The Red Devils, who had gone over three months without defeat in the Premier League, were beaten 1-0 at the DW Stadium earlier this week. However, the Spaniard believes that the result will sharpen their focus ahead of the final stretch.
"It was a disappointment but sometimes it can be a wake-up call," he told the club's official website.
"We will be even more focused now going into these last five games, starting [with Aston Villa].
"We know there is still work to do. But we can't wait for each game. We want to keep putting in the performances. We are determined to keep fighting to keep that advantage."
Sir Alex Ferguson's side welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford this afternoon.
