Eamonn Dolan to take charge against Manchester United?

Reading academy manager Eamonn Dolan will reportedly take charge of the club for their trip to Manchester United on Saturday.

Reading academy manager Eamonn Dolan is expected to take charge of the Royals for their trip to Manchester United in the Premier League at the weekend.

The former Championship outfit are currently without a manager having sacked Brian McDermott on Monday, but it had been suggested that a new appointment would take place this week.

Former Swindon Town boss Paolo Di Canio is the bookmakers favourite to take charge at the club, but Roberto Di Matteo, who won the Champions League with Chelsea last season, is also understood to be in the running.

According to BBC Sport, however, Dolan will be placed in charge for Reading's trip to Old Trafford as they attempt to pick up a much-needed three points.

Dolan has taken charge of first-team training this week.
