Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag dismisses concerns over a player revolt following claims that half of the dressing have lost faith in the manager.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has played down concerns over a dressing room revolt at the club.

A recent report claimed that half of the Man United dressing room had lost confidence in the Dutchman due to his style of management.

The reported complaints have seen questions raised about Ten Hag's playing style, training methods and man-management skills.

In response to the story, Man United took the decision to ban journalists from four different media outlets from attending Ten Hag's press conference on Tuesday.

The club claimed that they took the step over what they claimed was a failure to give them an "opportunity to comment, challenge or contextualise".

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's home fixture against Chelsea, Ten Hag dismissed the talk of possible disunity in the Man United dressing room.

Ten Hag told reporters: "I always listen to my players and I always give them opportunities to tell, if the players have a different opinion of course I will listen."

"But they haven't told me – or maybe one or two. But it is about in general: the majority, they want to play like this – proactive, dynamic, brave, that is what they want.

"You can see the players are behind it because of the performances against Everton and Galatasaray. Do you think we can make the goals we did against Everton if the players don't embrace it? I am sure [the players are behind me].

"You can see for instance the comeback against Brentford, the Burnley game, the Fulham game. You can see you can't play such great football as we did lately if there is no unity."

Ten Hag also refuted the suggestion that banning media outlets from his press conference added to a sense of disorder at the club.

"Not in the dressing room," he said. "There are a lot of rumours about strategic review [carried out internally], but it is not that we get distracted by it.

"We are on a journey, a route, we know we are still in transition but we are in the right direction, you see it how we construct a team, develop it, the team is progressing, how young players [are] coming in and you see the potential how they can contribute to a very successful Manchester United for the future."

The Red Devils are currently sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table with 24 points to their name after 14 matches.

They will be looking to return to winning ways against Mauricio Pochettino's side after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at the weekend.
