Manchester United striker Federico Macheda has been fined £15,000 by the Football Association for homophobic comments that he made on Twitter.
The Italian striker, currently on loan at Queens Park Rangers, was charged for the offence last week along with Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger and Walsall's Manny Smith.
As well as the fine, Macheda has also been warned about his future conduct.
The punishment of £15,000 is the largest fine that the FA have handed out for this type of offence.
