Rio Ferdinand has dedicated Manchester United's 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon to the club's supporters.
The Red Devils exited the Champions League on Wednesday evening with a 2-1 loss to Swiss club FC Basel.
However, centre-back Ferdinand hopes that today's win has helped lift some of the gloom at Old Trafford.
"Nice to give the fans something to cheer them up today. Four goals was just the answer after a disappointing midweek," the 33-year-old wrote on Twitter.
United are now two points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table.
