Rio Ferdinand believes that Manchester United deserve more credit for their recent success in the Premier League.

Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Manchester United deserve more credit for their dominance in the Premier League.

The Red Devils need 10 points from their final seven games of the season to clinch a 20th league title.

However, Ferdinand believes that the side has been written off too frequently in the past.

"Every year that we've won the league, the following season we've never been favourites to win the league," he told Red Wednesday.

"That's in most people's books or in the bookies' books, and that's always riled me.

"If you win the league, you should be the favourites next year because you've been the best team in the league - it's simple."

United continue their league campaign on Sunday when they travel to Stoke City.
