Rio Ferdinand claims that Manchester United's experience is vital in the race for the title.

Rio Ferdinand has said that Manchester United have what it takes to win the Premier League title.

The Red Devils currently trail crosstown rivals Manchester City by two points in the race for the title, but Ferdinand insists that the significance of the club's experience cannot be overlooked.

"It's going to be a long 12 games but it's going to be exciting," he said.

"After the Norwich game I said that sometimes a late 2-1 win like that is better than a 3-0.

"We know that it's never, ever over. We're in a good position, we've been there and have the experience and nerve to know what it takes to win from here."

Sir Alex Ferguson's side travel to White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow afternoon.
