Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Rio Ferdinand will join up with the England squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The central defender was recalled by England coach Roy Hodgson on Thursday having last played for his country nearly two years ago.
Despite doubts over whether he would accept the call-up, Ferguson has revealed that the 34-year-old will be returning to the international fold.
England travel to San Marino on Friday before making the trip to Montenegro four days later.
