Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Paul Scholes can play on for another season.
Scholes surprisingly came out of retirement in January to rejoin the United playing ranks following a short coaching spell with the club's reserves.
Ferguson has yet to speak with the 37-year-old regarding his future but feels that he is capable of adding another campaign to his illustrious career.
"I haven't discussed Paul's future with him but on the evidence we have seen at the moment there is no reason why he shouldn't [stay another year]," said Ferguson.
"He knew right away when he went coaching with the reserves and took part in the sessions he could hack it.
"He came to me and said he'd made a mistake. The evidence we are seeing now is he is right. His form has been fantastic."
Scholes has made 10 appearances for the Red Devils this term, scoring twice.
