Luis Figo has backed Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes to have a strong impact at Manchester United, describing him as one of the best players in Portugal.
The former Real Madrid and Barcelona wide man won 127 caps for his country before his retirement from international football in 2006.
Figo told Sky Sports News: "He is one of the best football players in Portugal. He is in the international team, a midfielder that can score. He has the quality to [score a] goal and to be in the box.
"I think it was a good buy, I just hope that he can adapt as soon as possible to a different league."
Fernandes tasted his first victory as a United player on Monday, as he secured an assist during their 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
United are seventh in the Premier League as a result, but they sit just three points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea.
