Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze to land San Lorenzo job?

Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze will reportedly be handed the managerial job at San Lorenzo in the coming days.

San Lorenzo have reportedly decided to appoint former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze as their new manager.

Since ending his playing career, Heinze has held two managerial roles in Argentina with Godoy Cruz and Argentinos Juniors, with promotion to the nation's top flight being secured with the latter.

However, the 39-year-old opted to resign from his position soon after that success and according to El Grafico, San Lorenzo are ready to take advantage of the South American's availability.

Claudio Biaggio has been in charge of the club since the departure of Diego Aguirre, but it appears that the Azulgrana are ready to make a permanent change in the dugout.

San Lorenzo currently sit in sixth place in the league table, having recorded two wins and two draws from their opening four domestic fixtures.

Heinze started and ended his career with fellow Argentine side Newell's Old Boys, while spending the rest of his time in Europe.
