Hair transplant chiefs 'loving the Wayne Rooney effect'

Hair transplant specialists are hopeful that Wayne Rooney's success on the international stage will lead to a surge in business.

The 26-year-old Manchester United forward underwent the re-thatching procedure last year - reportedly at a cost of £30,000.

An industry spokesman told the Metro: "Wayne has done more than anyone to show that there's no stigma attached to a hair transplant. We are delighted that he is keeping England ahead in every way!"

After scoring the winning goal in England's 1-0 win over Ukraine on Tuesday evening, Rooney joked that he hopes to have hair like Three Lions teammate Andy Carroll one day.
