Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway wants Wilfried Zaha to end his career at the Eagles on a high by helping them win promotion to the Premier League.
The 20-year-old will join Manchester United at the end of the season after completing a £15m move in January.
Holloway told reporters: "It would be a nice fairy story. Wilf will help Manchester United win games. I've never heard anyone talk about one player so much.
"He just needs to be left alone to play because his talent is so fresh and real and exciting.
"He might do enough right to get us what we need and that would be wonderful. We feel like we are losing a family member."
Zaha has scored eight goals in 50 appearances this season, including a brace that fired Palace to the playoff final in a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.
