Manchester United defender Phil Jones says that it is "great" to have striker Robin van Persie at Old Trafford after the Dutchman netted his 15th goal for the club at the weekend.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has given credit to striker Robin van Persie's prolific start to life at Old Trafford.

The Netherlands international has racked up 15 goals for the Red Devils so far this season, clinching his latest in United's 3-1 win over Sunderland at the weekend.

"Robin has been incredible since he joined," Jones told MUTV. "He's a fantastic player. He went straight into the firing line after he arrived and has scored a lot of goals. And he's such a nice lad off the field as well, so it's great to have him here."

Van Persie moved to the North West outfit from Arsenal in the summer.
