Phil Jones: 'We need three points against Aston Villa'

Manchester United defender Phil Jones admits that the club's game with Aston Villa on Sunday has turned into a "massive" encounter.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has admitted that it is imperative his side earn three points against Aston Villa at the weekend.

United have fallen down to ninth position in the Premier League table after defeats to Everton and Newcastle United, and Jones has insisted that the time has come for United to put together a run of victories.

The 21-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It is massive. We need to put things right in the league and that starts on Sunday.

"We need to get three points and go on a run. We have said it before but it is time that we kicked on.

"We've had a disappointing couple of weeks but hopefully we can now start picking up some points. Villa are a tricky team but we have to go there to get three points."

Jones has made 19 appearances for United this season.
