Jesse Lingard bemoans "disappointing" draw with Burnley

Jesse Lingard believes that Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Burnley is a disappointing result despite the Red Devils fighting back from two goals down to get a point.

Jesse Lingard has described Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Burnley as "disappointing", despite the Red Devils having fought back from two goals down to get a point.

Ashley Barnes fired the Clarets ahead at Old Trafford after three minutes and Steven Defour doubled their lead on 36 minutes with a 30-yard free kick into the top corner.

Lingard grabbed both goals to help Jose Mourinho's side to a share of the points, the latter strike coming in injury time, but the England man believes that the hosts were dominant and should have won.

"It's disappointing, obviously we created a lot of chances, we should have won the game," Lingard told reporters after the game. "We dominated the game so we're disappointed.

"I'm on form at the moment, it's great being in the team and helping the team get goals.

"We enjoy playing matches, that's why we play football. The more games the better, we can rotate the squad if needs be."

United are now 12 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, who play Newcastle United on Wednesday.
