West Bromwich Albion striker Romelu Lukaku admits that scoring a hat-trick against Premier League champions Manchester United was a "dream come true".

West Bromwich Albion striker Romelu Lukaku has admitted that it is a "dream come true" to have scored a hat-trick against Manchester United.

Lukaku came off the bench to score three goals in the second half at The Hawthorns in a thrilling Premier League game which ended 5-5, as Sir Alex Ferguson ended his 26-year tenure with the Red Devils.

Lukaku told the club's official website: "I have just worked hard from day one until the last day. I've had a great season and now I want to do better.

"It's been wonderful to be here. I've learned a lot, scored a lot of goals, and improved on a lot of things.

"I'm one of the lucky ones who has scored a hat-trick against Manchester United. But it was a great team performance and, as a striker, to score three goals against Manchester United is a dream come true."

Lukaku's loan spell with the Baggies will now come to an end following their final game of the season and he will return to Chelsea.
