Real Madrid 'eye Mauricio Pochettino as Zinedine Zidane replacement'

Real Madrid reportedly continue to consider replacing manager Zinedine Zidane with former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Real Madrid have reportedly asked to be kept up to date on any developments with Mauricio Pochettino.

While the Argentine remains out of work since being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in October, the 48-year-old is expected to start a new job ahead of next season.

Despite sitting at the top of the La Liga standings, The Independent claims that Los Blancos continue to hold an interest in Pochettino.

The report suggests that there are currently issues in the Madrid dressing room, particularly on the back of the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League last week.

Unless the Spanish giants overturn the first-leg deficit at the Etihad Stadium later this month, there remains the possibility of Zidane being removed from his position at the end of the campaign.

Pochettino is unlikely to be short of interest over the coming months, with Manchester United also said to be monitoring the situation.
