Ruben Amorim is set to take Manchester United training for the first time on Monday, with the Portuguese's visa allegedly being approved.

The 39-year-old officially became Man United's new head coach last week, but he was unable to begin work on the training ground, having not received his visa.

According to the Manchester Evening News, his visa to officially start his role has been approved, and he will take training for the first time on Monday, with the club's players not involved for their countries during the international break set to resume training in preparation for next Sunday's game with Ipswich Town.

The report claims that four of Amorim's backroom staff have also had their visas approved, but the wait continues for first-team coach Adelio Candido, who as it stands, will not be on the grass on Monday.

Carlos Fernandes, 28, has been confirmed as Amorim's new assistant manager, while goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital and sports scientist Paulo Barreira have also arrived from Sporting Lisbon.

Emanuel Ferro has also joined as a first-team coach, with Ruud van Nistelrooy, Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel departing, but Andreas Georgson, Darren Fletcher and Craig Mawson have remained at the club.

Amorim set to take Man United training on Monday

Man United will return to Premier League action away to Ipswich next weekend, and it is widely expected that Amorim will bring his 3-4-3 formation with him from Sporting Lisbon.

The preparations for the clash with Ipswich will be difficult, though, as it is likely that Man United will only have two full training sessions before the trip to Portman Road due to the international break.

There are a number of first-team players that will immediately be able to take part in training, with Casemiro, Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford among those not being selected by their countries.

Meanwhile, Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo are all working their way back from injury problems and should be involved in Monday's session at the Carrington training complex.

Which Man United players are away on international duty?

Diogo Dalot, Alejandro Garnacho, Christian Eriksen, Rasmus Hojlund, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir are the first-team players still on international duty.

Bruno Fernandes has been released from the Portugal squad early after helping his country reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League, and he should be involved in training early next week.

Lisandro Martinez needs to be assessed, having withdrawn from the Argentina squad due to an issue related to his hip and back, while Harry Maguire and Toby Collyer are on the sidelines through injury.

Victor Lindelof, meanwhile, limped off the field in the first half of Sweden's 2-1 win over Slovakia on Saturday evening, and he has since withdrawn from his national team's squad.

As it stands, Ugarte (Uruguay) and Garnacho (Argentina) will be the final two players to return to Man United, with the pair not expected to be back at the Carrington training complex until Thursday.
