Sunday's win over Southampton sees Manchester United become the first side in Premier League history to triumph in four successive away matches despite trailing in each.

Manchester United became the first side in Premier League history to triumph in four successive away matches despite trailing in each when they beat Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils fell 2-0 behind to the Saints at St Mary's, with James Ward-Prowse's free kick doubling the home side's advantage after Jan Bednarek had scored with a header.

Bruno Fernandes handed United a route back into the contest in the 59th minute, though, before Edinson Cavani came up with a late brace to secure a vital three points for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

The comeback victory means that the 20-time English champions are the first side in Premier League history to win four successive games on the road despite trailing in each clash.

The 20-time English champions fell behind against Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United and Everton on their travels this season before securing comeback victories, while the same can be said for Sunday's clash with Southampton, which was United's third straight league win.

Solskjaer's side will now switch their attention to the Champions League as they prepare to welcome French champions Paris Saint-Germain to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
