Manchester United will reportedly reignite discussions with experienced manager Thomas Tuchel should the club decide to sack Erik ten Hag as head coach in the near future.
Ten Hag could be relieved of his duties if the Red Devils lose to Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, with the Dutchman under severe pressure due to the team's poor start to the campaign.
Man United minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe refused to confirm that Ten Hag would remain as manager when he was questioned on the 54-year-old's future.
According to inews, if Ten Hag is relieved of his duties, then the Red Devils will resume talks with Tuchel, who was heavily linked with the position over the summer.
Tuchel is available immediately, as he left Bayern Munich at the end of last season, and he is said to be keen to resume talks with the 20-time English champions despite discussions breaking down over the summer.

Man United 'to resume Tuchel talks if Ten Hag leaves'
Talks are said to have broken down over Tuchel's role at Man United and the financial package, as Ten Hag has had some power taken away from him due to a new football department being appointed at Old Trafford.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, as it stands, is the favourite to replace Ten Hag on an interim basis, and that change could potentially occur during the October international break.
Gareth Southgate is also being heavily linked with the position, and he is also available, having left England after leading the Three Lions to the final of the European Championship over the summer.
Southgate's limited experience of club management could count against him, though, and Tuchel boasts an impressive record in a management career which started back in 2007.

Would Tuchel be a good choice for Man United?
Tuchel was in charge of Augsburg's second team and Mainz before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2015, and he led BVB to the German Cup during his time at the helm.
The 51-year-old then moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2018, winning six trophies, while he has experience of English football, managing Chelsea between January 2021 and September 2022, famously winning the Champions League.
Tuchel then took charge of Bayern in March 2023, and he led the club to the 2022-23 Bundesliga title, but he was unable to secure silverware during a tough 2023-24 campaign.
The German would certainly be a statement arrival due to his standing in the game, but it remains to be seen whether the issues that were present during the initial talks could be overcome if Man United decide to sack Ten Hag and actively pursue Tuchel.
