Manchester United reportedly open talks with former France and Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc over a potential move to Old Trafford until the end of the season.

Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Laurent Blanc over a potential switch to Old Trafford.

In the aftermath of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure, the Red Devils hierarchy are said to be searching for an interim manager to take charge for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

According to Football Insider, the Old Trafford outfit have identified Al-Rayyan boss Blanc as their prime target to guide them through the remainder of the campaign and have opened a discussion with the Frenchman.

While the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane and Erik ten Hag have been linked with the vacant post, the Manchester outfit are said to be more keen on steadying in the short term before they begin a search for the heir in the summer.

Michael Carrick has taken temporary charge of the Red Devils following his former teammate's exit, and he will guide them into Tuesday's Champions League clash with Villarreal.

After two years in charge of France and three years in the Paris Saint-Germain hot seat, Blanc has managed the Qatari outfit since December 2020, winning 14 of his 39 games at the helm so far.
