Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly rest Daniel James amid fears of the Welshman being burned out.
The club signed the youngster for a fee of £18m over the summer transfer window and was expected to be eased in by Solskjaer.
However, an impressive start to life at Old Trafford, during which James scored three goals in his opening four games, along with an injury to Anthony Martial, has meant that the Welshman has started 12 games for the Red Devils in all competitions this term.
According to The Sun, Solskjaer will now restrict the 21-year-old's minutes as he looks to avoid seeing another player go down with an injury.
United are already without the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof due to injuries ahead of the international break.
Losing James prior to a busy December period, with United playing nine games in a month, would not be ideal for a manager whose attacking options are already thin.
