Mark Wright 'offered trial at Manchester United, Sunderland'

TV personality Mark Wright is reportedly offered trials with Manchester United and Sunderland following his performance in Soccer Aid.

TV personality Mark Wright has reportedly been offered a trial with Premier League clubs Manchester United and Sunderland.

The 29-year-old was part of the England side that played in the recent Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford, with United manager Jose Mourinho and Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce watching on.

Wright's performance during the charity game, in which he scored a 30-yard free kick, caught the eye of the two managers, and he has now reportedly been offered a chance to impress the Premier League pair.

"Mark has always fancied himself as a decent footballer. But he didn't expect this amount of interest after Soccer Aid," a source told The Sun.

"Jose came up to him after the game and asked him if he was free to head up to United's training ground to see how he gets on among some professionals.

"Mark is now making sure he can fit it into his schedule but he is very keen. Sam rang on Tuesday with a similar offer."

Wright was a member of the West Ham United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur youth academies earlier in his career, but never made it past semi-professional level.
