Juan Mata is hopeful that Manchester United's victory over Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford can kick start a run of positive results.
The Spain international rounded off the scoring for the Red Devils in their 4-0 thrashing of QPR, as they picked up their first victory of the season, and of the Louis van Gaal era.
Angel di Maria, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney also found the target in the first half in what was a comfortable afternoon for the former Premier League champions.
"We played much, much better," Mata told Sky Sports News. "From the beginning until the last minute we tried to score goals and that's what we have to do with the players we have.
"It's a very important win and it's the first steps in a run of results, we hope."
The win lifts United up to ninth place in the Premier League table.
