Paul Merson: 'Manchester United too strong for Everton'

Former Arsenal forward Paul Merson expects Manchester United to be "comfortable" in Sunday's Premier League clash with Everton at Old Trafford.

Former Arsenal forward Paul Merson has revealed that he expects Manchester United to be "comfortable" in Sunday's Premier League clash with Everton at Old Trafford.

United are currently top of the Premier League table on 10 points from their first four matches, while Everton sit down in 16th after losing their last two in the league.

The Toffees were also beaten 3-0 at Atalanta BC in the Europa League on Thursday night, and Merson has admitted that he has been "disappointed" with Ronald Koeman's side this season.

Despite a hamstring problem ruling Paul Pogba out of the contest, Merson has tipped the Red Devils to record a 3-0 win at Old Trafford.

"Everton have disappointed me this season. They have signed all these players but last week they got ripped apart by Tottenham and they weren't much better at Stamford Bridge before that. I don't see anything other than a comfortable Manchester United win," Merson told Sky Sports News.

"Paul Pogba has been playing well and will be a miss, although not in this game. Marouane Fellaini will come in and will probably cause Everton problems. They will be alright for this game without Pogba."

United will enter the match off the back of a 3-0 win over Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
