Jose Mourinho: 'Paul Pogba showed his level against Barcelona'

Paul Pogba "showed that be belongs" at the same level as Lionel Messi and Neymar during Wednesday's clash with Barcelona, claims Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has said that Paul Pogba "showed that be belongs" at the same level as the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar during Wednesday night's clash with Barcelona.

A first-half Neymar strike saw Barca record a 1-0 victory in the International Champions Cup fixture, with United losing for the first time since arriving in the United States earlier this month.

Mourinho has paid tribute to Barcelona's quality, but the Portuguese has insisted that Pogba's display against the Spanish giants showed that the midfielder "belongs" at the top level of football.

"Even as an opponent on the bench like I am, it is beautiful to see the guys' relationship with the ball. Today, one of my players, Paul Pogba, showed the level. He showed that he belongs at that level," Mourinho told reporters.

Next up for United is a clash with Norwegian side Valerenga in Oslo on Sunday night.
