Manchester United's David Moyes "impressed" by Nani

Manchester United manager David Moyes says that Nani was offered a new five-year contract because the Scotsman has been "impressed" by the winger.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has insisted that winger Nani deserves his new five-year contract at Old Trafford.

The Portugal international extended his stay with the Premier League champions by signing a fresh deal today, despite reports that his time at United was coming to an end.

"I'm really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years," Moyes told the club's official website. "He has great ability and experience beyond his 26 years. I've been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons."

Nani, who moved to the club from Sporting Lisbon in 2007, has expressed his delight in receiving the backing of the Scottish boss.
