Manchester United manager David Moyes has admitted that the club are keen for striker Robin van Persie to repeat his form from last season.
Van Persie scored 30 goals in 48 appearances during his first year at Old Trafford, and Moyes has revealed that he has been impressed with the Dutch international since he returned to pre-season training in the last seven days.
The 50-year-old told reporters: "I have worked with him for the first time this week, and his touch, his control, his awareness, and his finishing in the small games that we have done has been fantastic.
"I've really been impressed with his professionalism as well. He's gone about his work, he's never complained about a thing, and he's trained hard this week.
"We are trying to get him into a condition where he can repeat what he did here last year, and be a really big influence on our performances."
The former Everton boss also revealed that Van Persie would appear in the second half of Saturday's pre-season friendly with the A-League All Stars.
