David Moyes: 'Robin van Persie injury not serious'

Manchester United manager David Moyes says that Robin van Persie may return from a groin problem on Wednesday against Liverpool.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has insisted that Robin van Persie will not be out of action for too long with a groin injury.

The complaint has prevented the Dutch striker from featuring during the ongoing Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

However, Moyes has revealed that the 30-year-old has a chance of returning on Wednesday night against rivals Liverpool in the League Cup.

"He had a groin strain during the week. I thought he might have been Ok today, but not quite. We gave it every chance up until this morning. It is nothing serious. He could have a chance for Wednesday," Moyes told Sky Sports News.
